Woody and Jessie are two beautiful kittens whose story began in the saddest of circumstances, but who are now safe, settled and looking ahead to a much brighter future.
Abandoned and alone
At just 12 weeks old, Woody and Jessie were found abandoned in a pet carrier in a pub car park in Reading, on one of the hottest days of the summer. They had been left with no food or water, and no way of escaping the heat. Kittens this young are especially vulnerable, and had they not been spotted when they were, the outcome could have been very different.
Thankfully, they were discovered in time. They were taken straight to the vets for a full health check before coming into our care, where they could finally be safe, comfortable and looked after properly.
Two little characters
It didn’t take long for their lovely personalities to shine through. Woody and Jessie are incredibly sweet, friendly and affectionate kittens. They adore people, love playing together, and after a busy day of exploring they are always happiest curled up side by side.
What makes them so remarkable is how trusting they have remained. Despite being let down so badly, so early in their lives, they are confident, gentle and absolutely full of love.
A brighter future
Now healthy, happy and thriving, Woody and Jessie have put their difficult beginning firmly behind them. They came through their ordeal together, and it has been a joy to watch them grow in confidence every day, knowing the worst is well and truly over.

Woody and Jessie’s story had a happy ending because we were able to step in, cover their veterinary care, and give them somewhere safe to recover.
As a self-funded local charity, we receive no funding from the national RSPCA, so it is only thanks to local supporters that we can be there for animals like these two.
