Supporting People and Pets at The Porch Day Centre

A huge thank you to Lizzie and everyone at The Porch Day Centre in Oxford, Ady the Dog Warden, and our wonderful volunteer Paul for a fabulous day helping people and their animals!

The Porch is an Oxford-based day centre that provides vital support to homeless and vulnerable adults.

It offers a safe and welcoming space where people can access hot meals, showers, laundry facilities, and advice services. The centre also provides practical help around housing, health, and well-being, helping individuals rebuild their lives with dignity and compassion.

Many of those The Porch supports have beloved pets who are a lifeline of companionship and stability.

That’s where we come in – working alongside the team to ensure those animals receive the care they deserve.

During our most recent visit, we saw 11 animals – 10 dogs and one cat – and helped 6 people with welfare vouchers so they could visit the vet.

We also provided flea and worm treatments, pet food, leads, harnesses, and some cosy coats for the colder months ahead.

It was a truly heartwarming and successful day – full of smiles, wagging tails, and a real sense of community. We’re proud to continue supporting The Porch and the people and pets who rely on them. ❤️
