Lend a Paw, Change a Life

Join Our Volunteer Family

Our animal volunteers are the backbone of everything we do, making an incredible difference in the lives of animals in need.

Thanks to your dedication and generosity, we’re able to ensure that every animal we care for is safe, warm, healthy, and has a full tummy. Your contribution truly transforms lives – both for the animals and the people who adopt them.

Volunteering with animals is not only rewarding but also deeply moving and grounding.

It’s a chance to give back, connect with like-minded people, and make a tangible impact.

Whether you’re interested in working directly with animals or supporting behind the scenes, there’s a role for everyone.

What We're Looking For...

Our amazing volunteers make a world of difference, and we’re currently looking for compassionate individuals to join us in these vital roles.

Every role plays a vital part in creating brighter futures for animals in need.

Could you be the hero we’re looking for?

Fostering

Many animals come to us after facing trauma, neglect, or abuse. They need kind and loving foster carers to help them heal, regain confidence, and prepare for their forever homes.

Fostering is a rewarding way to make a real difference. Whether it’s comforting a nervous dog, nurturing a shy kitten, or caring for a rabbit in need, your support is vital.

With all costs covered by us, including food and veterinary care, all you need to provide is your time, love, and a safe space.

Join our team of foster carers and give animals the second chance they deserve!

Home Visitors

Home visitors play a vital role in ensuring our animals are matched with the right families.

By meeting potential adopters in their homes, you’ll help assess whether they’re ready for the responsibilities of pet ownership and provide advice to set them up for success.

Some of our animals come with unique needs due to their past experiences. As a home visitor, you’ll ensure adopters understand these needs and are fully prepared to provide a loving and suitable environment.

Your support can make all the difference in giving our animals the happy, secure future they deserve!

📢 Important: We are not currently recruiting Home Visitor volunteers.

Rabbit Centre Volunteers

Do you love spending one-on-one time with animals?

We often receive requests for roles that involve socialising, walking, cleaning, and feeding – we need your help at our Paws & Claws Rabbit Centre in Harwell near Didcot. (Map Link)

At Paws & Claws, we provide an idyllic environment for rabbits to enjoy life while they wait for their forever homes. Rehabilitation can take weeks or even months, and our dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure every animal finds their perfect match.

We urgently need volunteers to clean, cuddle, and feed our bunnies. Just an hour of your time on weekdays or weekends can make a world of difference. Additionally, with new rabbit hutches generously donated, we’re looking for help assembling them and assisting with general maintenance.

Join us in creating brighter futures for these lovely animals—your support can change their lives!

📢 Important: We are not currently recruiting Rabbit Centre volunteers.

Trustees

Are you passionate about animal welfare and looking for a meaningful way to make a difference?

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team of trustees and help guide the work of our branch.

As a trustee, you’ll play a vital role in shaping our strategy, making key decisions, and ensuring we can continue to provide the best possible care for animals in need.

This is an opportunity to use your skills and experience to support a cause you care about, whether in finance, fundraising, marketing, or operational planning.

Trusteeship is a rewarding role that offers a chance to make a real impact behind the scenes.

By helping us run the branch effectively, you’ll contribute to giving countless animals the brighter future they deserve.
