Find Your Perfect Companion and Change a Life

Every animal at RSPCA Oxfordshire has a unique story and is waiting for a second chance at a loving home.

From energetic pups and gentle cats to quirky rabbits, each one has their own personality and plenty of love to give.

By adopting, you’re not just welcoming a pet into your life—you’re giving an animal in need the happy, secure future they deserve.

Explore our available pets and discover who might be the perfect addition to your family.

Who can rehome a rescue pet?

Anyone can rehome a rescue animal from us.

What’s important is matching you and your family, with the right animal, which will be based on their needs and yours.

Rehoming rescue dogs

Remember some of our dogs may still need help with toilet training and learning to be left alone. These factors will be considered when trying to match with someone or a family who has time for this.

Other dogs may not be used to living with children, in this example, we wouldn’t choose to rehome them to a young family.

Rehoming rescue cats

In some cases, the cats in our care are still getting used to human company and may need someone who will be patient with them.

Others may need to be kept indoors – this may mean that they’d be ideal for a family with no outside space.

Rehoming rescue rabbits

Remember, some of our rabbits may still need help with litter training and adjusting to their new environment. These factors will be considered when matching them with someone or a family who has the time and patience to help them settle in.

Other rabbits may not be used to living in busy households or with young children, and in such cases, we wouldn’t place them in a home that might be overwhelming for them.

What happens next?

Once you and your pet have found each other, we’ll help you get ready to welcome them into your family. We’ll arrange for one of our adoption staff or volunteers to call you.

They’ll discuss any specific needs that your pet has and suggest any adjustments to your house, garden or lifestyle that may be needed to help you and your rescue pet settle into a safe, secure and happy life together.

Once you have chosen your new companion, we like to see where he/she will be living. We have a team of Adoption Support Volunteers, one of them will come out to your home to meet you, give you lots of tips and advice on introducing a new pet and answer any questions you may have.

Once you have collected your pet, we will give you a call in a few weeks to see how they have settled in. However, we are always available by email or phone if you have any concerns or questions.

Who will you welcome into your home?

Most of our adoptable pets aren’t puppies or kittens.

They come in all shapes and sizes—some are quiet, some are playful, some are a little quirky, and a few might even have three legs. Each has their own story, a unique personality, and an abundance of love to share.

Maybe it’s the dog who trots over for a sniff or the cat who curls up right beside you.

You never know who you’ll meet and form a lifelong bond with!

Now it’s your chance to offer the animals in our care the loving home they truly deserve.

Why adopt a rescue animal?

Many of the animals in our care have never known the warmth of a loving family home. Can you give one of them the happy future they deserve?

While there are plenty of places to buy pets online, this can be risky and may lead to unexpected vet bills.

When you adopt from us, you can be assured your new companion is fully prepared for their new life—they’ll be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
