There’s something lovely about a fundraiser that brings people together over a shared love of animals, and our Easter Saturday collection at Pets at Home Cowley did exactly that.
Thanks to the generosity of shoppers, the warm welcome from the team at Pets at Home, and a group of volunteers who gave up their Saturday to stand behind a collection bucket, we raised £135 for the animals in our care.
A Visit From the Easter Bunny
The Easter Bunny made an early appearance at the store, handing out chocolate eggs to children (and a few grown-ups too) and helping to draw people over for a chat about our work. It’s moments like these, simple, friendly, and full of smiles, that turn a routine shopping trip into a chance to support local animals.
Every Pound Stays Local
As a self-funded branch, RSPCA Oxfordshire and Reading relies entirely on donations from our local community. We don’t receive funding from the national RSPCA, which means fundraisers like this one directly support the cats, rabbits, and other animals in our care across Oxfordshire and Reading.
Every pound raised goes towards veterinary treatment, food, and the day-to-day costs of looking after animals waiting to be rehomed.
Thank You
A huge thank you to:
- The team at Pets at Home Cowley for hosting us and championing local animal welfare
- Our volunteers, who gave their time on a busy bank holiday weekend
- Everyone who donated, stopped for a chat, or simply said hello
£135 might sound like a modest total, but for a small, locally funded branch like ours, it makes a real difference. If you’d like to support our work, you can donate here or find out about fostering and volunteering.
